Bruington, a passenger in the vehicle with his mother and brother, “did not immediately comply” with officers’ commands to show his hands, but he did eventually put up his hands and get out of the vehicle, Lawyer said. But he “bent back into the vehicle and emerged with a firearm in his right hand,” she said. He began to run, at first toward the officer who was making the commands, she said.
Going to go ahead and say this was justified.
Edit: The video shows him pulling out what police say was a gun. The gun in question was also hit with one of the shots from the officer and broke the gun. All of that seems like it would be pretty verifiable and difficult to fudge.
As much disgust as I have for cops failing to deescalate or just shooting first and fuck you for asking questions, there are occasions where it’s justified.
Dude wanted to be shot. Don’t know if deescalation would have been on the table.
If dude wanted to be shot and he had a gun he could have shot himself.
This reeks of coverup and a planted weapon.
Suicide by your own hand takes a whole lot more balls than suicide by cop.
While it may reek of that to you, the video shows him pulling something out that looks like a gun (but broke apart when hit by a bullet). It likely was a fake gun, and he ran at the cops with it to get shot intentionally.
If dude wanted to be shot and he had a gun he could have shot himself.
You have clearly never watched body cam footage.
Yeah if it’s true that the guy got a gun and went at a cop then this isn’t your usual case of unwarranted police brutality.
That’s what the prosecutor says happened, anyway. Wouldn’t be the first time a prosecutor has chosen to side with the police over justice.
The released video also shows that. You think they would release the video easily if it did not?
Probably not.
