Sony really needs to get their shit together. It seems like they’ve been pissing off all their communities these last couple weeks.
They might’ve just realized they’re a medium-sized publisher with a hardware business on the side. Or they will be, if every game is on every system. They finally started porting to PC as a rule - because that’s more money from more people. But now they’re stuck in a dilemma between pursuing that money and undermining the concept of consoles. If they fuck this up then the PS7 is a Steam machine.
How is that different that any other developer? Xbox shit on me when they made my favorite franchises exclusive. PC game devs shit on me when they refuse to release games on console. It’s crazy how PC gamers defend the steam corporation and its billionaire owner
PC game devs shit on me when they refuse to release games on console.
Wow. You have absolutely no idea what goes into releasing games on console, do you?
Talk about entitlement.
“when they refuse.”
You’re not entitled to play a game simply because someone made that game. God, I fucking hate gamers now, they’re all selfish petty pricks.
I genuinely hope you enjoy all the negative reviews you’re about to receive, Sony.
No no, you don’t get it, ask the HD2 people, you need to switch your review to positive so they understand that they get a reward when they behave!
Which they literally didn’t “behave” they just moved the timeline further hoping it’ll blow over. They still block purchase in the countries where you can’t get the account linked.
I thought the sarcasm was obvious enough…
Buddy, there is no difference between “idiot who thinks he is right” and “sarcastic comment” in text. People aren’t mind readers, and you were specifically talking about people changing their reviews because PSN didn’t happen.
All I read in that article was “yarr”
I wouldn’t even bother torrenting that to be honest, I never understood why it got so much praise. It looks like just another mediocre open world action game.
It seems a little silly to recommend for someone else not to play it when you yourself don’t even know anything specific about it besides that it’s an open world action game.
I got some recommendations from friends of mine.
Since I became a dad, my focus on games has shifted massively. Super deep immersive games are now en par with “Get in there, do some busywork with plenty of explosions and quit the game again” types of games. Since you can’t play long sessions or multiple sessions back to back anymore, “mediocre open world” that gets you in and out there fast becomes actually something worthwile since you’re never playing long enough to become tired of the busywork.
It’ll be available just not supported

Steam isn’t the one delisting the games, that’s still up to Sony.
Also creating a PSN account as a citizen of an unsupported country by VPNning or fake addressing your way to it is against terms of service, and can result in your account getting disabled.
Piracy is unfortunately the best option here by far.
I see. It’s unfortunate because if those games stayed on those stores, people could make an account in foreign regions without issue. I didn’t need a vpn to make a Japanese psn in Europe, and Sony doesn’t care that I’m playing PS5 games online from my U.S. account in Europe as long as I’m buying my games and network subscription in US$. I haven’t set foot in the states in over 15 years. Sony support even helped me recover my account when my authentication app lost its data once. Just know which address you used, you’re birthday and stuff.
PC gamers wouldn’t even need to worry about buying their games in native currency or even the online subscription in the first place. Simply make the account and don’t be a dick to bring attention to yourself.
Either way, yeah. Piracy is the optimal option left to players in those regions.
Or 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Ahoy!
the game has fair prices to third world countries, that’s why they have regional restrictions, if sony don’t demanded that shit it would be available

Problem is Sony bans accounts made with vpn from the restricted countries.
Awesome, then Sony can ban those accounts for circumventing their ToS, meaning people can buy the same game multiple times. Very efficient!

Their ToS state:
3.2. During Account creation you must select the country or region of your residence and in which your account will be registered in. Once your account is created, you will not be able to change the country or region code associated with your account.
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/legal/psn-terms-of-service/
Since they explicitly say “you must select the country or region of your residence”, selecting a different country is against the ToS. Did you not bother to look them up before making your comment?
Well I guess I’m f*cked, since I’ve been using a us account for 15 years and haven’t resided there in all that time. I suppose any day now my account gets banned because that’s how this works.
How about you stop licking Sony’s boots and accept that it’s not a viable solution to tell people “the only way to consume this media is for you to be in constant danger of being banned”?
They can remove your access to the game. That is unacceptable from a consumer rights perspective.
Not licking anybody’s boots here, just trying to point out that the issue wasn’t as bad as people love to make it out to be. Go make a psn account in another region. See if Sony actually cares.
What if earnings don’t go up enough next quarter, and they see this as an opportunity to make more money? What if they expand PSN coverage and start enforcing their ToS then? You’re giving people advice that will likely result in them losing access to their purchases in the future. That’s bootlicking to me.
