Aw, is Roberts furrowing his brows really intensely?
lmao, no, not even, he’s looking ashamed and doing less than the bare minimum, just like at the impeachment proceedings.
“What do you think he means by that? ‘Tonight, you’? Like it’s some kinda threat?”
This is truly the worst timeline
!fedimemes@feddit.uk might like this too
They made the threat, but I don’t believe they carried through with it; I believe we made a counter-threat to execute German soldiers in retaliation if they did, which was enough to dissuade them.
Explanation: After some three years of European powers brutally bludgeoning, bayoneting, machine-gunning, and using chemical weapons on each other in WW1, the Americans entered the war. We, of course, immediately indulged in the same bludgeoning, bayoneting, machine-gunning, and chemical weapons as every else did, but we also brought a large quantity of pump-action shotguns to the fight, with brutal effect in the tight confines of the trenches.
The German Empire lodged a formal complaint that the use of shotguns was against the laws of war due to the inhumane nature of the weapon. “Lol”, said everyone else, “lmao”
“Jerry” is a nickname for German soldiers; just as British troops were sometimes called “Tommy”.

My grandfather’s dog tags from Vietnam. He always kept them swinging from his rear-view mirror. Swore they kept him safe.
Also swore up and down that he wasn’t superstitious, lol.
But I think I liked it better when they did an empty gesture in support of gay rights rather than against them
Just one of those things. Means nothing about the companies themselves, but means everything about where society in general is at.

Honestly can’t think of any that aren’t already here.
The origin of that saying, the trains in Fascist Italy, were basically never on time. But the fascist government put great effort into telling people that, at long last, they were running on time, so it stuck.
Narratives dig deeper into cultural consciousness than reality itself.
This, but you ever notice that it’s pretty much never passenger trains? This efficient mode of transportation is largely designed for and used by industry rather than for travel or commute.
Yet massive amounts of goods are shipped long-distance via truck anyway, clogging up highways and polluting far more per-ton and per-mile moved.
Truly the worst of both worlds! USA! USA! USA!
The blind hope that somewhere in this world there is a functioning public transit system is all that keep me going some days. Let me have this
GMod and pot brownies
Wait, you guys have trains?
Depending on whether the stars are right. Or whether you need to cross the tracks - there’s always one when you need to cross the tracks.
… she had to push it? She couldn’t pedal it?
Maybe my ebike is comparatively light, but I can’t imagine being unable to pedal it when it’s dead.
I can’t think of any that I’d be particularly surprised by at this point.
