I find that the effort, time, and expense of treating assholes how they deserve to be treated isn’t usually worth it. They don’t deserve my time or thoughts.

Yeah - I just knew I was gonna die a few months back, and it was a panic attack. Which is weird because I’ve historically been low-stress. But between work being crazy and the world being what it is right now, things apparently got to me subconsciously.
My chest got tight, my breathing was labored, my arm went numb. It was terrifying.
And thinking you’re having a heart attack doesn’t help with the panic attack. But it was amazing how as soon as the EKG showed normal, everything started feeling better quickly. Just the knowledge that it was panic helped so much.
But you should still go to the ER in those cases, because if you assume it’s a panic attack and dont go, but turn out to be wrong…

1·3 days agoYeah. They solved protien folding with ML a few years back. And I like using it for things like noise removal in Lightroom.
But so much of it has been focused on useless (at best) bullshit that I just want the bubble to burst already.
The city I work for put up Flock cameras with specific instructions from Council that they were only to be used for identification of cars flagged in active warrants.
Within a week of their installation, police used the cameras to track the movements of someone who filed a complaint.

I legitimately think that’s a relative of mine.
I need to send this to him.
Also, despite being surly in general, he used to carry square-rimmed spectacles he’d put on when children “recognized” him.

Yeah. I think most of them have a lifespan of like 20-30 uses per license.

When going through a school zone I had to ride the brake.
I think doing this exact post but changing the request could really speak to the inefficiency of AI.
Something like “What is 8x12”, go through the whole sequence, and have it spit out “Eight times twelve is 114”
Getting 20 interviews is an accomplishment.
I have a 100% sucess record on getting the job offer once I get an interview l, but getting the interview is the hard part for me.
The thing is, I’m also terrible at coaching others for interviews because I don’t know exactly what I’m doing right or wrong since I effectively have no negative feedback.
At this point I think it’s mostly my confidence that carries me because I basically assume I’m getting the offer. I ask a bunch of questions about the company, working environment, etc and essentially make them pitch the job to me instead of me pitching myself as an employee. I’m also generally comfortable enough due to my past success to mostly be myself, and I think any time you can make the interviewer laugh it’s a good sign.

And that’s because it projects influence through military might and soft power. It doesn’t need money.
That’s income tax, not wealth tax. Once you get rich enough, they’re not really related anymore.
I like the idea of having a maximum wealth. Once your assets are worth X amount, you can’t have any more.
Last time I was really good at competitive shooters was in my 20s playing MW2, Left 4 Dead, and Battlefield 3. Battlefield 4 and Black Ops 1 were when I felt it shifting, and now I just don’t play online shooters anymore.
I feel like multiplayer games need a special chill lobby for verified players over 30. One where you can step aside and deal with the kids without causing issues. A space where you can call it a night without spoiling the fun because it’s 8:15 and you really need to get ready for bed.
If you’re in a cold environment, the water that’s been sitting in the pipes in the house will be warmer than the water coming in from outside the house. If the sink/toilet/whatever increases water usage, that warmer water gets used up more quickly.
Water chills the body about 25 times faster than air of the same temperature, so even a 1-2 degree temperature change can feel like a LOT when it’s sudden.
Saudi Crown Prince. Trump defended his ordering the murder and dismemberment of a Washington Post journalist just this week.
It’s not about homosexuality being wrong. It’s about the hypocrisy of the Trump’s treatment of sexual minorities.
And let’s not forget that it was Clinton who signed an order to eject non-closeted homosexuals from the military.

Now we just make an overnight hospital visit cost $38,000 so so that people without workplace-provided healthcare die instead.
As a bonus - people who get too sick to work have their Healthcare canceled so they’ll die too.
