You know what that’s probably correct. I will look out for that going forward.

Yea I had an instance of this as well. “I totally agree to do this evil thing in your place, leave it up to me guys go have a drink on me” was a lie. I couldn’t make up the disapproval from 2 other party members even when I saved the person afterwards.
That’s still not luxury in this market. I priced one myself ended up at 48k. That’s not luxury anymore in this market.
But I digress. I’m not a Tesla lover or anything just saying they’re not luxury cars. I don’t even have an EV yet and don’t want a Tesla.
“suffering a bit less”. Wow. Just unimaginable.
Exactly people say this but then not about Mazda. Every single Mazda has the same design scheme. There’s nothing wrong with that, if it works for the company fine, but like, “oh they all look the same” is invalid as a complaint against them.
Tesla has many other things you can diss on them for.
So Tesla’s have quality issues I agree with, Elon is an asshole I also agree with. But not all Tesla’s are a Plaid. They start at $35k, the Y at 40k. They are most assuredly not luxury vehicles and I’m not sure why people keep thinking this.
If you have 20 kids and a great Dane I guess you’re right. If you have 2 kids and a dog that’s on you.
So wait. I am transporting one person, not taking up much space, obeying the rules of the road, don’t have loud pipes nor speed, and you’re telling me I’m selfish? When you literally just said you don’t care about our pleasure?
I don’t think it’s us thats the selfish one here.
I love that this has become the hatchback and Yaris love thread. As a GTI owner it makes me happy. I do not want nor need to go any bigger. It’s almost the perfect car.
At risk of angering the vast majority of the fuck cars community, it’s generally because I live 30 minutes from my job by highway, and can’t afford to live within walking distance. And they won’t let us telework. I really really want to actually live close enough to bike.
This made me think of Howard the Duck the movie and now I’m upset that I made the link between the two. I’m going to have to watch the movie again to clear my mind of such atrocity.
Backwoods Virginian and that’s what we called it.
The Fuck Cars community is so prevalent over here on Lemmy it’s crazy. I wonder why that is.
Btw you guys do you, no hate or whatever I just see this sentiment everywhere on other people’s posts.
No, autopilot does not allow for a driver to completely disengage their attention. That’s what they want to get to but that’s not where we are. You still have to drive the car, you still have to be in control.
This is the driver’s fault.
I hope Tesla wins this one. We need to set a precedent for this, you can’t be out here driving high, drunk or any type of impairment and just assume you can get around that by your cars technology.
Granted I agree that the car should slow down, put hazards on and pull you off if you don’t respond by a certain timeframe. There are a few brands that do that and it should be standard.
Mustang Mach-E. Ford is seeing what Tesla is doing and copying the good bits, doing constant over the air updates, keeping quality good (not perfect, mind you) and the car itself is absolutely gorgeous. Blue cruise is not bad, expensive though now. You will probably have a shitty dealer experience but dealers are shitty. Ford really wants to do away with them and is trying to figure out how, last I heard.
If you want cheaper the Bolt EV or EUV. The pricing on the Bolt is good, and you wouldn’t be going wrong by getting the current version. Chevy was going to ax the Bolt but instead they are redesigning the battery for a new edition. Everyone thinks its going to be just the EUV going forward since the EUV is like 4 inches bigger and most of it is the same. Chevy is going to put in a better battery that has faster charging times as well, if the rumors are true.
So you can’t go wrong with either of those two. The main thing is that car companies are turning into (and have been for a while even prior to EVs) software companies. You have to go with who you think will do the best overall with good and bad and then pair it with the EV that suits you.
That being said despite how much I love the looks of the IONIQ 5 and the EV6, Kia and Hyundai have some work to do. VW is safe. They are Electrify America after all, for what good that is.
Yes I know how to drive a manual, I learned many years ago. I’m from the US and I’m 42.
Learned on an old beat up truck when I was like 20, I remember I got stuck stalling out on the highway once, I don’t even remember how. I freaked out so bad. 8 years ago I had 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. I miss that car so so much.
