Complaining about the prices at ski resorts and amusement parks is peak first world problems.
I agree, however they still shouldn’t be charging 8 million dollars for food.
In fairness to ski resorts they do have additional overheads.
Its harder to get supplies in, workers are seasonal and either have to be provided housing or paid more to cover eyewatering seasonal rents, heating… not to say they dont tack on a big “Because you have no other option” tax.
Smart people plan and bring their own food 😉
Smart frugal people. Lots of others will just factor it into the cost of a vacation and be okay with it - accepting the fact that it’s overpriced and mediocre quality. It’s just a matter of convenience and how much people are willing to shell out for it.
True, but clearly there are also people who whine about how expensive the prices are on a luxury vacation.
Just because something else is worse somewhere else, doesn’t mean people can’t complain or feel cheated.
Of course not, it just makes them whiny little first world bitches.
They’re still free to complain, unlike many of the people actually suffering.
Shut up
🤐
I think it’s less the feeling of actual, serious persecution and more just an intense annoyance at the perceived unfairness of obviously skeezy business practices.
Nobody likes being on the receiving end of “Lol because I/we can, that’s why. What are you gonna do about it?”
Feels like everywhere now. Baseball parks. Movie theaters. Rodeo.
“Woah, you smuggled in your own food!?”
“Heh, yeah kid. This ain’t my first
rodeobaseball game movie.”I went to the movies last night for the first time in a few years. It was $42 for 2 tickets, and $30 for 2 sodas and a popcorn, and then they had the audacity to ask for a tip.
and airports
Funnily enough McDonald’s outside the airport walls is getting very close to the ones within the walls.
I’ve never been to a ski resort, never flown on an airplane, never went to a baseball game or concert. How are people affording these luxuries? I’m in the top 10% of earners and my money goes to housing and retirement. I’m still clipping coupons for groceries every week.
You should have been born to wealthy parents instead of trying to pull your self up by your own boot straps.
Same for airport. Oh no we have to throw your water bottle (I bought 24 for $3) at security screening, but 10ft after there is a store selling those exact same bottle for $6 EACH
I think you can drink your water, but keep the bottle and then refill it in the other side of security
This is absolutely true and so easy to do. You can also bring as many dry snacks as you want.
That pic is way too generous with them fries lol
With shorter snow seasons due to climate change, those may be the cheapest prices we ever see again.
I wonder how many years will need to pass before people see this meme and wonder why ski resorts are selling burgers and fries so cheaply…
Let’s be real 10 years from now nobody is gonna be skiing anymore. ☀️♨️🥵
We can water ski once the earth is covered in ocean.
I didn’t know Waterworld was a documentary!
There’ll still be rich cunts heli boarding, but yeah almost all the ski lifts will end up closing down from lack of revenue due to not enough up time due to unpredictable weather.
Oh and indoor fields like the one in dubai and Auckland, nz will presumably still operate, unless the sport in general just becomes really unpopular.
We’ll be skiing in Siberia when the temperature is no longer -40 (any degree)
Don’t worry, they drop it down to $15 for the staff when it’s literally the only place to eat. Hence why your average resort employee carries a large backpack.
The good ol’ company store scam.
For what it’s worth that employee discount makes it the cheapest restaurant in town…
Same with GrubHub/DoorDash
So… Is McDonald’s turning into a ski resort? 🤔
That looks wayyy too high quality to be McDo
I agree but at the same time that burger looks very mid.
I wonder if they’ve heard about surge rates yet?
Annual pass gives you priveledge to buy a day pass, depending which annual pass level you purchase and if it covers blackout days, obviously, then pay additional fee per lift based on surge and distance traveled. Don’t forget to tip! 30% is appreciatively suggested. Coming soon, luxury bathroom fees!
Now do an airport that happens to be at a ski resort
Pretty much everyone flies into Geneva Airport for the french resorts; the Montreux Jazz Cafe is the biggest restaurant there.
Just looked it up, their burgers are 26 to 30 euros.
Actually fairly reasonable for Geneva
This applies to hotels as well.
Yeah, it’s redonk. When me and my buddy had season passes for a ski resort, I would just bring premade lunches instead.

I dunno. I’ve been an unhinged addict of French fries for many years, and I can taste those fries by looking at them.
They’re too starchy , not greasy enough. The skins will be unpleasant which is unfortunate because I always like the skins. They look light on salt, and will need ketchup.
My God what the fuck is wrong with me I’m like a fucking potato sommelier
As a connoisseur of poh tay toes, they look gross.
Neither boiled, nor mashed, nor stuck in stew. 0/10
I mean, if you’re already at ski resort and you’re looking to harvest organs…
I don’t know but I wouldn’t start with myself…

Or amusement parks. Really anywhere where the only options are their stuff
