Yeah it’s almost like they’re very intentionally making their project legally distinct by calling it just “OpenTTD” instead of spelling it out. Please don’t call me dull when you are apparently too fucking stupid to grasp this very common practice in fan projects.

Often projects like this will have a name that suggests a relationship to a commercial product but officially does not use any trademarks.

And they, notably, do not distribute them. Or do anything else to infringe on someone else’s intellectual property.

TTD clearly stands for Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and openly so. The entire and only point I made is exactly that.
