We could not afford to keep him.

        It’s actually an interesting story.

Cat stopped by one day. We were house sitting two small dogs and our dog was out with my mom and her dogs at some dog gathering. Cat came into house, explored. The two small dogs were in their crate temporarily for a reason I fail to recall. I let them out and they b-line for the cat who swipes them both.

The cat continues to explore and sticks around. Our dog comes home and gets swiped by the cat. They watch th cat with trepidation for a while before relaxing and the cat decides to stay the night.

Everyone got along after that and the cat decided this was his new home.

My partner is very allergic to cats, but loves this cat. Takes allergy meds, which barely have an impact.

Cat has ear mites so I took care of that. Cat being cat, loves keyboards so I gave him a towel to lay on on the other side of the f keys.

After a couple weeks partners allergies are getting worse, breathing problems, running nose, swollen eyes.

I tell her for her own good we can’t keep the cat. Takes a few more days of her crying and suffering for her to relent.

Post Kijiji ad saying we have a great cat, needs good home, allergies, etc.

Oh forgot to mention daughter named him Yellow Snow King Kitty the First.

Found good home, the guy later told me he was the best cat he ever had, and relaxed into his new life with surprising ease and he was super grateful.

Kitty just wanted a good home where he was appreciated. Wished it was us, but we could not afford the allergy tax.

It’s a mixed bag of happiness and sadness thinking of him… I’m just glad he’s with someone who loves him.

It was a unique experience getting chosen by a cat.

Daughter continues to makes jokes to my partner that we we should trade her for a cat. Allergies suck.

That’s the story of Yellow Snow King Kitty the First. He will forever live in our memories and the stories we tell with th impact he had during brief time he blessed us with his presence.

Ps: cat could leave at any time, day or night, as we had the patio door setup so it was never closed, and covered with a magnetic screen, for the dogs to come in and out as they pleased.
