There's no evidence OTC antibacterial soaps prevent disease more than washing with plain soap and water. Some antibacterial drugs can do more harm than good.

    Fwiw, this has been a thing in medical circles for a while now. I’ve been out of the field since 2008, and we had switched away from antimicrobial soaps already, even out here in the boonies.

    So, no need to worry much about it.
