I’m tagging this as grain of salt, as the source is yiffy, but I saw this through necrolipe and though it was interesting.
According to Nintendo Patents Watch on bluesky, on July 3rd, Nintendo filed several trademarks, including the games I mentioned in the title (Prime 3 and Prime Hunters, Drag x Drive, Hotel Dusk Room 215 and Magical Starsign) and some random things like Nintendo Today (the app) and “? block” (whatever that is).
The interesting part for me is that, according to him, this trademark was for several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, EU, GB, South Korea, Mexico, Norway, NZ, Switzerland, USA. Some of these countries could be argued that it’s a simple trademark renewal (like the US, Australia and SK), but I doubt countries like Brazil, Chile and Colombia already had trademarks for these games, so those would most likely be brand new trademarks.
However, the account gives no source of the trademarks and I tried looking up trademark databases of lots of the countries listed, but it’s confusing and in the end I couldn’t find anything, so I’m not putting much hope into this for now.
