So, Through this app, I’ve tried changing the text styles into “Bold”, “Italic”, “Strikethrough” by the parallel slide it offers just above the keyboard. But none of them works when Commenting on a post.

This is the very first time I’m officially testing the text styles in post.

This line should appear Bold This one should be Italic This one should be Strikethrough superscripst subscript

If the upper 5 lines don’t appear as different text style to you or to me, then what can be concluded from this? Is this the app’s incompatibility or my device’s incompatibility?

Additionally I’ll try all the 5 styles in comments. Since I don’t know if only I cannot see the effects from the app and others CAN see. Respose accordingly please.

IT IS THE F-CKING FONT! IT IS THE F-CKING FONT PROBLEM. STUPID PHONE AND IT’S STUPID THEME STORE !

Sorry, Gentlemen and Ladies to waste your precious time. My Phone’s Optimization decided that it won’t let me see a Bold Font inside this app for some reason.

I had been using a custom font all this time and the idea of setting the default font crossed my mind now.

Now I can see, interact and Write in every text style and can see them too.

If you want a line break without having an empty line in between, end the line with two spaces.

    This
    is
    actually
    possible.

The text formatting system used on Piefed and Lemmy is called Markdown. You can find an excellent short Markup tutorial in the net. It’ll teach the rest.

I did actually used line break in between the 5 styles.

But it appeared in one line. Dunno why. I didn’t bother changing since other commenters said that they can see the 5 styles, both in post and in comment. Which is the main point.

I know the way to write in 5 or 6 styles in markup text format. But it seems like only the Bold ( Just to check again, I wrote Bold in actual Bold style ) style has a problem of not showing it to my own app interface.

It appeared in one line because you did not end your lines with two spaces.
You write a line. Then you press the Space bar. Then you press the Space bar again.
        And then you press Enter.

I can see all of them in both post and comment, using both android and Apple device versions of the app.

Update: From the post, Only the Bold style hasn’t been applied. I can see the other 4.

    Now, time for comment.

    Bold

    Italic

    Strikethrough

    Superscript

    Subscript

I’m guessing Bold will not work this time too.
