Basically, Fortnite is rolling out a new system with user-generated “islands” that can have their own independent rating from the main game. If an island is rated E for everyone or E10+(as opposed to the base game’s rating of T for teen), some of the game’s cosmetics aren’t able to be equipped in those areas. People are upset because 1. they paid for those, and 2. apparently there are inconsistencies between what is allowed and what isn’t.
Fortnite is changing what skins can be equipped and where, including real-money paid for skins. Specifically, labeling some skins as not E™ for Everyone™ and only allowing them in non-E™ zones.
People are upset that the cosmetics they paid real human dollars for are going to be unusable where they want to play, defeating the entire point of spending money on a cosmetic.
People are also upset at seemingly arbitrary lines-in-the-sand drawn over which skins dont count as E™, and which do. In a “why is my skin off limits but that skin which is far less kid friendly is no issue?” style complaint.
If you paid money for a skin to look cool in the game you like, and now cant use it in the parts of the game you want to play in, thats a valid reason to be upset.
No one cares youre grinding for faze clan entry dude, theres no “”“skill”“” that matters if youre playing fortnite. If you play the game for skill in a way where you talk like this, youre playing cs:go.
Xd I’m fairly shit at the game yet I was LE in csgo. Not trying to enter faze clan. There is no harder game than this at this point skill wise. And no I haven’t paid money to them because I just don’t see why when you can even earn battle pass by just playing even though it takes some time.
What was this cosmetic rating system?

Yeah, I’m also out of the loop on this whole drama…

If you’re not a child and play the game for the skill then you don’t need to care at all
