Scammers Are Tricking Anti-Vaxxers Into Buying Bogus Medical Documents::On Telegram, scammers are impersonating doctors to sell fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates and other products, showing how criminals are taking advantage of conspiracy theories.
To be an anti-vaxxer you have to be stupid and gullible. Stupid in the sense of drawing bad conclusions from available information, and gullible in the sense of willing to believe bad information. I don’t think I could come up with a better subgroup for scamming.
Though if I was in charge, I’d set up honey pots for these people. Get them to try to buy a fake vaccine pass, and then they never go home.

This is more like anti-vaxxers scamming themselves and others, and the so-called scammers are just providing the required service.

Maybe tricking those idiots shouldn’t be a crime.
I see this as a total win for normal people.
I can see how plague rats would be a uniquely ideal demographic for scammers. They’re incredibly stupid and very loud about it. They probably don’t even have to try very hard to find these marks. So zero sympathy for them. I feel terrible for the medical professionals that are being impersonated to commit these crimes though. That can seriously impact their careers and reputations through no fault of their own. I can only imagine how awful that must be.
