    29 at-risk specifies identified along proposed route

    So we have at least 29 good reasons to cancel plans for this highway.

    Ontario will need to find a better way to move people, ideally in ways that disincentivise large, single-occupancy vehicles. Building more highways or adding more lanes to existing highways just makes the problem worse.

    It’s not just the land the highway itself will take, it’s the surrounding areas that worry me. Look at Mississauga or Brampton from space - that’s what’s going to happen to a 60km wide swath around the highway. Just a sea of impermeable grey concrete and asphalt. That’s the last thing Ontario needs.

      Eventually they would add too many on-ramps too close together and traffic would also be horrible on the highway.
