Why are there Android Auto updates everywhere?

Hi recently I’m seeing news about android auto all over the place like:

Grapheneos recently integrated android auto.
Microsoft Teams is being developed for Android auto.
Google updating android auto with chrome support.

What has happened in android auto now that there are some companies focusing on it?

To me it looks like most car manufacturers support Android Auto.

Which manufacturers are removing AA besides GM?
