I’m sure that many people who are born in remote villages with a subsistence lifestyle, that we would view as living in poverty, are happier than many people who are born in “first world” countries.

Right, “should I do drugs?” is not a typical choice for a 9 year old to have to make, they should be protected from that. I have heard stories of particularly shitty parents giving drugs to their own young children.

I’m from England and wouldn’t pronounce it like this at all. The “woo” sounds like you’re a ghost or something and the “sure” part is just outright wrong.

It’s really hard express through text, but I’d say “wuss-ter-she-er” (the wuss part is pronounced the same way as if you’re refering to a cowardly person), is much closer. Regional accents could make it different tho.

I think some people do fucked up shit regardless of what they’re taught and it requires a solution that’s slightly more complex than “just teach the kids right and wrong”.

Whilst I strongly encourage good parenting, you could have the most fucked up parents imaginable and still easily be able to understand why rape and murder isn’t a benefit to society.

imo the solution is just not to do anything sketchy, and teach younger people what’s right and wrong, so that the problem can get solved with a better society in the future

Whatever the source, I don’t think it’s surprising that women are a lot more selective than men, it makes a huge amount of sense in evolutionary terms.

And given that a small percentage of men are getting chased by the majority of women, it’s unsurprising that they’re used to getting screwed over, causing all men to get cast with the same aspersion.

I know it’s unrelated to the thread, but I’d personally never go to a country that doesn’t treat, women, gays, apostates etc as equals, I think these countries are absolutely terrible and I’m not fooled by them having “show cities” where they pretend that they’re not that way.

A country that still has a medieval mindset in the third millennium is not getting a penny from me.

Sometimes prophecies are self fullfilling, treat a man like the worst example of the gender he represents, through no fault of his own and you might find he behaves less than appropriately.

I’m not saying that excuses the behaviour, but if women looked at me and immediately thought “potential rapist/murderer” I can’t say that wouldn’t upset me and possibly cause me to act less than amicably.

I mean what the fuck am I supposed to do? Somehow talk the worst male scum out of their depraved behaviour, or somehow try to convince all women that “I’m one of the good ones”? That’s never going to happen no matter how hard I try.

We all need to be realistic and keep things in perspective. It’s not OK to treat people as the worst of the people they identify with, it’s no better than the “all Muslims are terrorists” mentality.
