Perhaps. Looks like both CNN and NBC News have “stories” on their front pages as well.

Gotta love some hard hitting coverage by Engadget, followed immediately by “Best Amazon Prime Day 2025 deals.”

Start with the 128 Democrats who voted with Republicans to table an impeachment vote this week.

I do wonder if we’re going to see some websites popping up that kind of hit the reset button on social media and go back to smaller communities of folks with something in common.
I kind of miss the days of actually having online conversations with folks you know are real people (not bots), that aren’t trying to be an influencer, or get famous, or some how many money off your interactions.

I tweaked. Many (most?) don’t.

You know what else would help? Annual (or more) blood tests during routine wellness checks with your doctor.
Do you know why most people don’t get those?
Insurance won’t cover them. Many insurance providers won’t cover them.
Maybe start there? Although I’m guessing he has no buddies who would make money from routine blood tests.

If this election was held in 2023, you have to wonder if the outcome would have been wildly different.
For once, an encouraging sign for sanity and common sense.

Honestly, I feel like Trump and the GOP’s strategy for a while now has been to do so much illegal, evil and heinous shit that the media and public just move onto the next thing.
Any other administration would have been brought to its knees by Signalgate. A few months later and the fucking Secretary of Defense is getting congratulated for not leaking military plans ahead of time.

So I guess GPS jamming, Internet cable cutting, spreading misinformation, meddling with elections, Olympic sabotage, gas pipeline sabotage, cyberattacks, etc. etc. don’t count?
I mean at this point it’s easier to point out which laws they aren’t breaking.
But I’m guessing nationalizing National Guard troops, sending the military to LA, and/or rounding up brown people and putting them in jail with no due process.

Or NYC. Or Boston. Or Chicago.

TACO at it again!

Let’s see if they send National Guard to a red state. Keep going Dallas!

Many Democrats said party officers shouldn’t take sides in primaries, and Martin proposed requiring party leaders to remain neutral in them. Hogg had pitched a compromise, suggesting an internal “firewall” that would bar him from access to sensitive information in primaries his group, Leaders We Deserve, were involved with. But Martin rejected that deal.
“Party officers have one job: to be fair stewards of a process that invites every Democrat to the table — regardless of personal views or allegiances,” Martin said, urging Hogg to stay neutral.
IMO this is what it’s all about. They can talk about ‘procedure’ and ‘distractions,’ but at the end of the day Hogg has committed to running primary challengers against dead weight Democrats.

A good time to remind everybody that while rubber bullets are considered “non-lethal,” they can kill.
Back in 2004 a college student in Boston died from a bullet that missed its intended target, hit the ground and ricocheted into her eye.

So, while the shot certainly wasn’t warranted, IMO its worse because of what could have happened because this officer was taking a shot for fun.

I hear you, but I also feel its shortsighted.
The end result is somebody like MGT - who knows she’ll never have to defend herself in a race, so she goes way off the deep end.
The party is missing opportunities to tell their side of things and challenge the utter nonsense many GOP candidates spew.

This is one of the biggest failings of the democratic party. For too long they’ve had the “we aren’t going to win there anyway” mentality, just ceding the opportunity to represent different thoughts and beliefs and keep the GOP honest.

I agree. Time for a good old constitutional convention.

Let’s also not forget Google wants you storing your photos on Google Photos, listening to music on YouTube, buying / renting movies from the Google Store, and streaming from Google TV.
It isn’t just YouTube. It’s their whole ecosystem.
By the way, I have a NAS setup. Was it pricey? Sure. But it cost about what it would to watch the NFL this year, and should last several years.
Looks a lot like and older Civilization and Sim City had a baby.
