A very large portion of what any of us know about a given politician or policy is from corporate media and they absofuckinglutley have a desired outcome even if it’s as simple as using misleading ragebait just to get views. It leaves us less capable of making good decisions.
This is exactly what has me irritated about this whole nonsense… People have been doing that since Photoshop existed, but big scary AI is in the news now so we are going to attack it full force because people are using it in the way they’ve used everything that has similar capabilities…

It’s the American right wing way of convincing the population that 1: you’ll never have peace with a mixed population and 2: we can never have the nice things other countries have because we’re a mixed population.
They get to keep the status quo of “everything gets worse so businesses owners make more” and they get to use the racist dog whistles to keep those racist asshats on their side by “proving” race mixing makes things worse…

I have absofuckinglutley no faith whatsoever in our society to do the right thing in this respect. We value ownership waytoofuckingmuch when it comes to businesses, were never going to get past the argument of “I put forward the capital for this business, I am entitled to all of the profits. Who cares that there is no work for you? No work no pay.”
I forsee a gigantic increase in homelessness and politicians will use that as an excuse to further cut any social spending as they’ll pin all our issues on “communist policies.” :(

The problem is that you basically need to have those conversations about wages in an email otherwise the company will still fire you for it, but claim it was just about “poor performance” or “insubordination” so they can’t get in trouble for it… Hell I could even see a corporation arguing that your email conversation about wages wasn’t “professional use of email directly related to their work” so there’s pretty much always a way for them to skirt that law :(
