You don’t think once Lemmy hits mainstream, companies won’t start polluting Lemmy and harvest data here?
I was at a tech conference job fair and chatting with a bunch of former game programmers.
I absolutely messed up when I asked one guy who worked on a famous game why they decided to do X feature, and if that was the reason for the game’s failure.
He looked me in the eyes and said something like, “I get orders from the business execs. So even if their ideas are obviously bad, if I don’t do it, I get replaced. After the game is released, good or bad, I get replaced. If the game doesn’t even get enough funding, I get replaced.”
Gaming industry seems so toxic.
¥1590/month.
Rough $11/month in freedom dollars. That’s not bad!
Still pricey for a solo use. What is your use cases? Lurking or a frequent poster?
They literally explained their backstory.
They rub one out then reply. It’s not rocket science.
Good. At a company, you get your ass fired if they catch you using non-approved equipment on company infrastructure. It can lead to leaks and infiltration, and lost of revenue.
In the military, that’s people’s lives!
Nah Skirt Deku is work related.
Every time I see this implemented, it always seems like screwing over the end user who is trying to join for the first time. Platforms like reddit and Tumblr benefit from a friction-free sign up system.
Imagine how challenging it is for someone joining Lemmy for the first time and suddenly having to provide trust elements like answering a few questions, or getting someone to vouch for them.
They’ll run away and call Lemmy a walled garden.
It’s reporting activity, not banning people (or bots)
I switched to Linux a few years ago and you are not wrong.
Windows is a nightmare with directory organization.
Saved games can go:
Why don’t you want to vote for the felon rapist who has a history of racist comments and has taken money from corporations and foreign government over the Cop lady?
Right? This is where I’m at.
GTA San Andreas was peak GTA for me.
My favorite part was when Trump said nobody died on Jan 6..
Her death was so useless not even the guy she was supporting gave a shit about her.
I work with rich ego maniacs like him. Mistakes that he does means nothing to his ego. Mistakes that others make are personal attacks.
Yep.
My deductibles were crazy when I was in college working in fast food. Something like $8k. I was making like $30k a year.
Today, it’s like $4k. I make multipliers of that.
Harebrained games made the very excellent Shadowrun games.
I’m not familiar with their other offerings. Honestly I just wished they made more Shadowrun games.
She replaced it with TAP WATER. If you inject something that’s sterile, at least they won’t DIE. Putting pure nonsterile tap water right into people’s blood stream leads a lot of confusing infections that can easily be traced back.
This lady was a moron and killed multiple people because she apparently doesn’t understand basic medical practice.
I cannot explain how crazy this is. Like medical knowledge 101.
They shut off the Crew 2 and even planned on deleting the game from people’s libraries. They’ve added micro transactions to (I think) every single Ubisoft game in the last decade. They were pro NFTs and wanted it rolled out to games. Their Ubisoft launcher. Toxic and sexist environment.
Every few years, they make a better Assassins Creed or Far Cry that moves the open-world genre forward. But that’s the only positive thing I can say.
I’m not a “Support the Troops” person. I even have family in the military, I just really don’t care for that jingoism. So I’m not that offended by Trump’s antics disrespecting the military.
What really frustrates me is the fact orange man thought it was a good idea to THUMBS UP in a graveyard. Jesus Christ, no respect for the dead. And every single person around this idiot is cool with him doing that. Fucking ghouls.
Just people living their best radioactive lives and you’re mocking them?
It’s about delivery. What they’re doing is lying to people, and then dumping them randomly in downtowns or in places unprepared to provide services. Not to mention, the cost of this political theater is significantly more than just… You know, helping them directly.
If this was done with actual humanitarian goals and compassion, states can coordinate and actually help people.
