They were a joke anyway. We would always get a shipping box from Amazon, ten times the size of whatever we ordered with maybe one of these ‘plastic pillows’ thrown in for protection - just bouncing around. It was such a joke.

They would never put enough in to protect the item or pick a carton to be a closer size.

In the end it just was more plastic waste.

  • Am in NC but have family right over the state line in TN. Can tell you they got it as bad if not worse in places. Where the Nolichuckey winds through some of the mountain counties there are areas where all the bridges/roads in those counties are completely washed out. The water isn’t receding fast enough either.

We’ve been in continual contact with friends who are completely stranded. No way in to the area and no drinkable water.

The news is not covering it and what they are is making it sound like there are only a handful of deaths when in reality there are probably dozens of people (or more) missing.

Am afraid this is going to just all get brushed aside for some other ‘News blip’ come next week.

  • Being a kid of the 80s and living on the tail end of the Cold War this is just so weird.

The Republicans then, under Reagan, really viewed the Russians with disdain. We were constantly told - both by them, school, and the media, how Russia and Communism was the greatest evil on this planet.

Now all I see every time I turn on the news is some shadow of a Republican, gargling the balls of a Russian leader or representative.

It’s WEIRD I tell you, it’s like that movie The Manchurian Candidate is playing out only they’ve replaced the whole party.

  • There is actually an app that will let you remotely view and start/stop the printer without the use of the VPN.

My wife often works from home and is tech savvy so I have no problems running prints and checking in remotely and I often hear of others doing the same; however…

I would not recommend doing it without someone handy. Just my two cents. It’s not that someone could hack in - it’s that you are dealing with temps in the hundreds of degrees Celsius. While I don’t recall of these things catching fire, the thought that it could burn my house down has more than once crossed my mind.
