I wonder if the new colonization system will be able to model something like the Dutch, Danish and Portuguese colonial empires. While all nations had (and have) a strong naval tradition, perhaps the economic demands of colonization in EU5 might make colonization on the scale that it actually happened unfeasible.

Wow, that sounds cool :) I haven’t followed the devdiaries closely at all, so I don’t know what’s possible now. I hope my home island of Samsø will be playable in some form. Maybe I should look up how colonization works now.
I am of course going to play Denmark with the goal of eradicating Sweden from the map.

2·18 days agoI thought this was a rework of the original game, but it seems to be an update released as a new game??

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Uncircumcised penis owners, did you ever wish you were circumcised?
22·29 days agoI was circumcised at 40 for medical reasons, due to phimosis. That was a blessing after several years of issues with having normal intercourse and having little operations done that were ultimately ineffective.
Anyway, it’s definitely different and I am much less sensitive. I definitely prefer being uncircumcised, just not, you know, with phimosis.

3·30 days agoIn Denmark a state pension forbids you from working, yes. You have to pay back the pension for every hour worked.

11·30 days agoWell, I hope you find a model that works. Though, with the benefits of having a job also being social and having a purpose, I think I’d prefer having the elderly stay on the job market is some respect on reduced hours and so on.

12·30 days agoIt’s not a weird flex, but I don’t know how you’re going to balance your budgets with that early a retirement age. Or maybe you don’t have the same challenges with the large generations retiring now that we do?

59·1 month agoIn Denmark, my pension age is 70. It seems wild that the French are rioting over a rise from 62 to 64…?

2·1 month agoI don’t know man, for me ‘burger’ also refers to the shape. Fry up a lovely mushroom or whatever and add it instead of the meat and I would call it a burger still.

1·1 month agoLanguage is the only truly democratic system we have, despite the best efforts of e.g. Academie Française the language develops as the speakers want it to, on average.
This legislation seems symbolic at best, and like a nonstarter at worst. And I dobt think it makes anyone’s life better…

Europe@feddit.org•EU Parliament votes to restrict 'steak' and 'burger' labels to meat onlyEnglish
3·1 month agoIn Danish it’s definitely a shape, so… Which underlines the fact that this sort of legislation is pretty ridiculous in a multilingual society like the EU.
Please also remember, as per Saussure, that for the language user only the present exists. Etymologies are curious facts at best and doesn’t necessarily mean anything for current usage.
I feel like that’s largely a habit thing. I never cook using the microwave, I would have to spend a lot of time looking up shit to cook something decent. But I cook meals from scratch most days and I know exactly which ingredients to use, where things are, and how to cook a dish quickly and effeciently.
I often cook while I listen to podcasts, which strangely enough helps me focus on the mechanical tasks since I am not distracted - or rather, only distracted by the podcast. That works well for the dishes I know by heart, but if it’s something new where i need to check a recipe I have to force myself to concentrate as well :)
Good luck however you feel like feeding yourself!
If you like easy meals, get yourself a simple Italian cookbook. There’s like, one million different pasta dishes with about 3-5 ingredients in them which can be cooked in 20 minutes.
Microwaving:
- Season and wrap
- Put on plate
- Place in microwave
- Microwave it for 3 minutes
- Eat
Frying:
- Season
- Put pan on stove and add butter/oil
- Heat the pan
- Add the fish and fry for 3 minutes
- Eat
If you can microwave stuff you can also fry stuff, cooking is just following steps and practice.
Worse than just frying it for 3 minutes which takes the same amount of effort.
