That’s cool, thanks for the perspective.

What makes a front loader more desirable for you than a long tail cargo bike? Is it the giant bucket esque cargo holding container? I had read reviews that cargo bikes that held the weight behind the rider (like super panniers or cargo racks) were more comfortable to ride. Curious to hear you opinion!
Being aware of a car coming up behind you seems like it might be better than not being aware of a car coming up behind you, no?
I’m just learning about Pixelfed from your comment. Any suggestions on where to start or instances to subscribe to?
It’s definitely an issue of distracted driving rather than a lack of skills to drive adequately. Because of our lack of public transportation options compared to where I’m assuming you live, most folks have to drive to do most things. They also have to do this at the same time as everyone else, which makes driving a shitty necessity and overall poor experience. Now we have computers in our hands and can do something more enjoyable than pay attention to the road while you’re on your Thursday evening 1.5 hour commute home from work.
Personally I think that distracted driving violations should be treated the same way a DUI is.
Are you also on iPhone? I have the same issue. They’ve always been like this for me.
Fun fact - the original lesser known Snakebite is a shooter of Yukon Jack and Rosie’s Sweetened Lime. The name was assumably stolen for the Guinness/cider combo
This is big Tom energy.
How would you like it if I quoted biblical passages to portray you as a fascist conservative US ultrachrist?
I think that would be really entertaining.
I just want to say that I really appreciate how much effort you put into this post when all I wanted to do was shake my pitchfork. Thanks for starting an actual discussion!
I’d like to start by saying that I’m not trying to be a hater. Anything that gets people on a bike instead of in a car is a positive in my book.
That said, is no one concerned with the width of some of these things that are being designed? Yes, I understand that cyclists should take the road lane when there is not a bike lane etc. but I just don’t see how the sheer size of these things is appropriate, especially in the US. People would run this shit off the road so fast because carbrain. Also, if your goal is bikepacking, how is this conducive to getting to a desirable location to set up camp? You’re not getting anywhere remote or isolated with this thing in tow.
Genuinely curious to hear how others feel about these big bulky things getting in bike lanes and on shoulders. The delivery truck replacement bikes are another example of something I have lots of questions about when it comes to the safety of other road users (other cyclists).
Really wish I still had my poop brown and green Zune.
You might be thinking of Fred Meyer, which is red.
No no no Troll Boy can’t be the winner.
I haven’t thought about S-Video in a while
