What slip? If you mean the “package delivery attempted” slip, those aren’t mailed – they’re left by the delivery driver at the location – so they wouldn’t be redirected by mail forwarding.

Honestly, I think the easiest way would be to try to make friends with whoever moves into your old place (and/or the landlord for that place). That way you can arrange for them to hold your packages until you can pick them up if they do end up at their place.

You should also sign up with your current address for Canada Post’s automatic package notifications so you can stay on top of when they are in Canada Post’s hands. You might be able to talk someone at a post office into redirecting the parcels once you’ve got info on them (thought I think it’s a long shot).

Unfortunately CP seems to only offer parcel redirection services for businesses. Their mail redirect service (for regular customers) won’t be much help to you.

Alovoa works in web browsers too so it technically supports any device with one, including iOS. But yeah I get it; no dedicated iOS app. It does have an F-Droid version and I actually did use it a while ago, before I completely abandoned OLD altogether. Alovoa is unfortunately also not e2e encrypted (afaik, I haven’t looked into it recently) and there’s not a lot of active users on it either.

Personally I’m perfectly fine not dating and I realized a few years ago that I’d prefer to be single for the rest of my life over using “hot or not” dating apps. Duolicious seems to not be one, which gives me hope that that style will make a comeback and I can stop doing my in-person/online hybrid approach using Meetup to meet cool people irl (no intent for dating; Meetup is not and should not be used as a dating app).

Yes, it seems like all of their source code, including the apps, is open source under a good license. Open source is not necessarily related to privacy though. Being more privacy-respecting than Tinder is a very low bar.

Personally, I’d recommend steering clear of this until they stop using Big Tech. Dating apps can involve a lot of private data being exchanged so ideally this would be at least end-to-end encrypted (it’s not encrypting data at rest) and available on F-Droid. Sending data to OpenAI is completely unnecessary, but the e2e encryption and app build transparency would be good enough if they can’t leave Google and Amazon for server hosting. It also doesn’t help that the app is just a joke (or so it seems).

I don’t. Personally I think it has led to more proxy wars, as the stability-instability paradox suggests. I think the amount of actual aggression went down after WWII, but has since recovered and surpassed pre-WWII levels. But now everyone is afraid of declaring war on nuclear powers, so they’ll let the nuclear country get away with genocide or other atrocities instead. Look at Israel and Russia right now for easy examples. Seems like the winning strategy now is to convince your adversaries that you’re crazy enough to launch your nukes and then you can do whatever you want without other countries taking a strong enough stance to stop you. That’s not peace, that’s nuclear intimidation. I don’t even see a peaceful way out of it.

Agreed, but it’s up to the politicians (unfortunately) to fix the voting process. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the people pointing out the absurdities in the process.

Certainly a much better contender than the king of genocide enablement (Trump)
