  • I’d probably reject PRs into my FOSS projects, because the aim is to put the code out there for other people to see and do what they want with it. I’m expressing myself, and sharing what I made; I’m not setting up a tentpole project for others to pitch in and take over on, and start managing their contributions and collaborate with them.

If they want to take the code and do something with it, great. I don’t want to be involved in their endeavour.

  • Basically cedeing power to the presidency should be effectively impossible, but power decaying back to the states should be the norm.

I can’t wait for the yanks to rub in my face that “AcKsHuAlLy, MeDiCaL mEtH iS lEgAl In WeSt ViRgInIa” while ignoring that women initiating divorce is illegal in idaho.

EDIT: maybe I fucked it up, but it’s already intolerable when shitheads brag about “The USA has legal weed” when it’s in certain states with many restrictions, and ignore all the shit that other states ban, like abortion. Or, permit, like child marriage.

  • I mean Neil Peart took the right ideas from “individualism” : personal liberties, and dedicating yourself do doing the hard, necessary work. Selling organs and not paying taxes so corporation scan profit off hospitals isn’t what’s in Rush’s lyrics; it’s the collective oppressing the individual, which happens under many ideological forms.

  • You’ve got most of it right, the part you didn’t show you picked up on/I didn’t make clear enough is the complaints that AI is taking all the electricity and water away from a town. Who the fuck gave the permission to have a data center be built that would impact the quality of life of the people living in an area? Why wasn’t the zillon dollar corporation responsible for this increase in power and water consumption?

And then because most people are using corporate ai with shitty , generic prompts, there’s never a chance to discuss using it as a technical art form or within it’s accurate placement in art history, which is something that would be intellectually stimulating to discuss.
