IMHO “separate the art from the artist” only applies to criticism of art. Not to consuming the works especially in today’s world where artists get paid by the stream. Like saying you like the song “I believe I can fly” is separating the art from the artist. But if you listen to that song on Spotify you straight up give R Kelly and his beneficiaries, who have condoned his behavior for years, money. So at that point the artist isn’t separated anymore.

How old are you? I’m late 30’s and my dad was born in 1943. Not sure when my grandma was born but she must have been in her twenties when she had my dad, because he’s the youngest of five. So there are definitely people in their thirties or forties who have a Italian grandmother who actively supported the fascists.

Latin-American countries are middle income countries and if you sell games there you have to sell them at localized pricing. In Japan you can sell your game at around the same price as you’d sell the game in the US and the EU.

This is Valve showing to PC hardware makers that a PC gaming market without Windows is possible. Valve just needs to prove that consumers are willing to buy a Linux gaming machine, so the Steam Machine is the litmus test. Microsoft is Valve’s biggest threat to the survival of their business. Since MS’s anti-consumer behavior will push consumers away from PC gaming. Valve wants to create a PC gaming market where MS’s choke hold has been destroyed. Remember this isn’t Valve’s first attempt, the first Steam Machine was released when Win8 was released where MS tried to push the Windows Store as the default way to download software.

Y-up sorta makes sense in games. Imagine a 2D platformer, Y is up and X is horizontal. Now add depth. Instead of flipping axis just use Z for depth.
