  • Bro wants to sound important and educated soooo bad. I actually giggled reading “economical attributes”. Like I don’t think even you understand what you’re trying to say.

It’s social equality you’re meant to be working on, not getting a piece of the pie.

Leftists want this. You’re not saying something revolutionary. The problem is that in America, getting democratic socialism with redistribution of wealth is much more realistic than a total social overhaul like you’re suggesting.

Recognising and blaming distribution of wealth is literally opposing leftism because it’s acknowledging and giving finance power.

Uhhh no. Capitalism and the govt give finance power. Recognizing and attempting to use the system to better the lives of people isn’t the problem, it just isn’t the ideal solution. It’s a stop-gap.

You can claim “true leftism” all day, but I live in reality where half-assed solutions are better than nothing.

  • I’ve yet to get medicated. Last time I tried I had the wrong diagnosis and ended up in grippy socks, and I’m currently living by myself, so starting new meds is kinda frightening tbh.

I did drink/smoke way too much as a coping mechanism, because yakno meds that help someone be able to function like a normal person are EVIL, but letting ur kid go undiagnosed and untreated is so fucking healthy for their long-term mental health.

My parents also managed to fuck up my math track to put me a year behind, and when I found their error and tried to catch up, they didn’t support at all.

Homeschool parents are [very often] imbeciles.

  • I’ll be honest I haven’t been on reddit much aside from a couple communities since the whole shutdown, but it’s not that surprising tbh. Reddit is a huge target for astroturfing, they don’t have good protections against it, and Israel invests A LOT into stuff like that.

I also feel like anecdotally I’ve always felt like reddit was very pro-israel. I’ve been educated about many things because of reddit, but Palestine wasn’t one of them. (when I say educated about I don’t just mean reading comments, I actually do go to effort to read books etc., but often Reddit was a source of prompting for me to realize I needed to educate myself on something)

But yeah, it’s so refreshing using Lemmy. Really reminds me of when I started using Reddit, but more mature.

  • I came up with a formula for my passwords - as easy to remember as a single password and makes a unique login for every site feasible without a password manager. Can be updated as often as you like and all you gotta do is remember the latest version of the formula. At the very least, the hashes will be different and it’d take someone having more than two of my passwords to figure out the pattern.

I also use over 100 email aliases with my own domain name so that my most important accounts have a separate login that isn’t a common domain that wouldn’t be easy for someone to guess.

It would take a lot of concentrated effort for someone to get at any of my important accounts, and even my less important ones would be pretty difficult to get into even if multiple accounts are compromised, due to using a smaller pool of aliases under common domains for less important accounts.

Someone got into half a dozen of my accounts a few years ago and I finally started taking security seriously.
