Nah, he’s being charged for his political actions
No clue. Everyone called me a millennial until they started calling me gen Z.
While the servers are the ones getting most of the tips, they have no control over this. Its entirely the point of sale processor (clover, square, etc.) who push it. They get a ~3% cut of the total transaction; if you tip then it’s a bigger transaction and their cut is a little bigger too.
This plan makes servers lives worse but doesn’t incentivise the people actually in charge to change anything.
My new rule is if I’m swiping the card, I’m not tipping. It’s arbitrary, and I’m sure that wait staff could use the cash, but it’s gotten unsustainable.
Most people who want him to drop out were never going to vote for him anyway.
People (perhaps erroneously) perceive a chance of Biden actually doing it. Trump will never drop out as winning the presidency is his only shot at avoiding incarceration. He’ll probably run again in 2028 if he’s still around by then.
Trump isn’t incumbent, meaning the GOP already had a full primary in the past year. They’ve already determined they don’t have a better alternative. Technically the Dems could have nominated someone other than Biden, but it was never a very likely possibility, so people aren’t as familiar with Democratic alternatives.
Republicans either don’t believe any of the criticisms you made of Trump are true, are okay with them, still believe him to be the lesser of two evils, or some combination of these. This is largely due to right-wing propaganda e.g. Fox News, OAN, Info Wars, etc.
I’m no expert, these are just what I perceive to be happening. There’s probably other factors at play as well.
Edit: with the recent supreme court rulings, I’m guessing that he may be able to avoid jail even if he doesn’t win. I still don’t see any chance he’ll drop out.
The answer in movies is the same as IRL: it’s to visually indicate that air is moving through the vent. In a movie this can be hard to tell the audience without a possibly annoying sound. In real life you might see this on vents that are difficult to access, probably so an HVAC technician can tell if the vent is working.
Honestly I have no idea
He said he would in exactly those words.
Don’t use Jan 6th
explain why you think he’s authoritarian, but don’t talk about that time he instigated a failed fascist coup
I’ll admit, if you move the goalposts like that it gets a lot harder to score.
Thankfully, he doesn’t actually need to win the majority vote (look up the electoral college if you’re curious/horrified), unfortunately that fact mostly benefits Trump.
It may already be too late to replace him. It would definitely be risky. And it’s not gonna happen unless Biden himself says so. If he runs against whoever the DNC were to pick to run against him or would guarantee a Trump win.
I worry that if/when Lemmy becomes popular enough the larger communities will be targeted in the same way…
There would have to be some dramatic changes in the world socially and politically before I’ll feel even remotely comfortable having kids. Also my finances would need to change.
And my family also has some genetic issues I’d rather not pass on.
Adoption is an option, but I’m pretty sure I don’t even want one in the first place. When I was younger I thought having kids seemed like a sucker’s game. My opinion has softened on that a bit, but it’s still difficult to imagine actually wanting children.
There’s also a lot of variance within the US. In some towns prom is huge. In my home town it wasn’t as much. Many students elected not to go at all.
You explicitly asked about apartments tho
Near all apartments around me have exclusively open-air parking, so this isn’t a viable solution for many. It’s not that the available power is inadequate, it’s non-existent.
An enormous percentage, especially in the current housing market, however…
Many (most?) American cities have wildly inadequate public transit and are prone to sprawl. Many Americans live in apartments, but are a multiple mile walk from their grocery store. If there’s any public transit at all it’s probably an infrequent and unreliable bus line that may not go anywhere near their home to begin with. They live in apartments, but are not anywhere near ‘downtown’.
These are problems that need to be solved, and quickly, but public transit is best grown with a city, which didn’t happen. Inserting a subway after the fact is difficult, expensive, and slow.
The reality of right-now (which is all a renter is likely to be able to consider financially) is that a reliable car is an essential item in most parts of the country.
I’m cautiously optimistic, but prime is made by a completely different developer than dread so there’s no guarantees, unfortunately
Oh yeah. Especially if you work as a flight attendant, so you’ll have to play someone else to care for it when you’re away.
Probably rationalized it as being cheaper than legal fees + additional damage to his reputation from a public trial.
Or it happened and he’d have lost.
Yes, my comment is assuming if Trump loses this year, I’d bet he’ll try for a second term in 2028.
