Congratulations. That is not easy to do!
Congratulations. That is not easy to do!
I just wrapped up a delightful trip with my bride of 20 something years and got a job offer for a different position in my company during the trip.
It was a practically perfect trip, but I’m also very excited to go home because I have 4 more days of vacation left and I can’t wait go be reunited with my cats, and relax around the house for a few days.
You think way way way too much of voters if you think Gaza lost her the election. Pardon me if I’m completely misconstruing your comment.
I thought everyone knew you couldn’t fall in love until you had collapsed in lust, or at least stumbled in physical attraction.
If Lemmy is social media, then Lemmy is my only social media app. I have Mastadon installed but I never use it.
I think it has been a decade since I used Facebook or Twitter and I never tried any of the later generation of networks like Snap or TikTok.
Call me insensitive, but as someone who experienced 9/11 as an adult, being able to enjoy actual funny jokes that reference the attack is kind of refreshing, especially jokes created by the generation born after it happened.
I have nothing concrete to base this on, but my observation is this:
A 9/11 joke written by someone who lived through it is more likely to be about 9/11
a 9/11 joke written by someone born after it happened is more likely to use 9/11 to punctuate a joke about something else
Either way, I find the latter group funnier.
Agreed.
But also, ive been noticing that that isn’t going so great lately.
I’ve managed to do this for decades without incident or injury to myself or others.
And chocolate. Cincinatti chili is great
This is entirely wholesome and yet all of my initial reactions are not. I need to examine myself.
Due to the nature of my work I’ve flown hundreds of passenger flights of all sizes and I still find myself in awe.
What a privilege to be able to actually see down from such a range of heights too. Where there is still lots of detail to be found, but you can also get an appreciation of scale. It’s honestly really amazing.
Spot on. This thread got me to rewatch it tonight and I gotta say, it hits even harder this close to the election. Almost painfully plausible.
It’s not a true story, but it is a very high fidelity representation of reality.
Welcome to Costco; I love you.
Too fucking relatable and more every day.
Not as extreme as the case in the OP, but I’m often surprised how “meh” a reaction Don’t Look Up got. Maybe people think it was heavy handed? Too on the nose? I don’t know but most folks seem to think it was at best merely “okay”.
For me, I place it next to Idiocracy as one of the most prescient films about what is in store for us. I think after this last election day, it seems even more prescient. On top of that, it is legitimately funny with really good performances, especially from Jennifer Lawrence.
I would this like form of mental unfitness please.
I was a butt baby and I turned out fine.
My diet is mostly hair, but I suspect that’s unrelated.
May you consistently find yourself stuck behind slow walkers that always seem to weave in the direction you’re trying to overtake them from
