on a bowden system yes, but just ever so slightly. not any more than you could fix with retraction and other settings, and prolly only nylon and other flexible ones you should be doing in a direct dirve anyway would be affected.
and even if it were worn down that much it wouldn’t cause any problem as the entire tube is made of the same slippery stuff, it’s not a coating.
cinnamon, lxde, kde, and mate are all desktop environments that mimic the basics of windows ui like the taskbar, start menu, and windows with minimize, maximize, and exit buttons at the top. and all can be installed/selected during install on pretty much every popular distro. there’s prolly some others i’ve forgotten but those are all solid choices.
edit: whoops had mint listed but that’s not a de that’s a distro
sounds like maaaaybe too little ram and no swap? what is your ram size and do you have any swap or zram enabled? i kinda doubt it because multiple distros should have a swap space or zram on by default on a fresh install but maybe not or you explicitly chose not to and it’s running out of memory.
fighting for bitcoin to get an emoji is stupid, but fighting against it might be even stupider. surely there are more important things to spend your time and energy on. it’s a fucking emoji. who cares?
google communism
yup, and both bluesky and threads will be/are exactly as bad, too.
i use revolution (selamectin) from the vet and it’s like a fucking flea nuke. if you’re getting it soon i wouldn’t worry about fleas getting in the house because once you use this stuff it’ll clear all of them out of the area in literally hours. fantastic stuff.
also, don’t trust any over the counter flea sprays or treatments at stores, they all use neurotoxins that they claim is safe for cats, but some cats are more sensitive and it might cause neurological damage or even death.
Permethrin is toxic to cats; however, it has little effect on dogs. Many cats die after being given flea treatments intended for dogs, or by contact with dogs having recently been treated with permethrin. In cats it may induce hyperexcitability, tremors, seizures, and death.

uh, the drama being what it is about people in positions of power blocking efforts to make a welcoming and diverse nixos community, persisting right wing concern trolling, and especially what appears to be maybe a military tech company takeover of nixos, it’s hella understandable people would want to reconsider using this tech on their own hardware and it’s pretty sus to respond to this with ‘ah just drama it’ll blow over’…
shit box or luxury car, this article is not talking about motor controller or battery controller software.
battery controllers and motor controllers are available as cheap, simple, stable, off-the-shelf dedicated hardware and there’s no reason budget evs would need to do any coding for them, maybe just some variable adjustment. those things are not controlled by the user facing software being talked about here.
nvidia only very recently opened up their drivers to open source dev, so the open source drivers available right now are still based on reverse engineering and they don’t work super great. there are proprietary drivers from nvidia but they are not easy to install and configure and popos handles that for you on install.
sounds like your problem is likely a combo of trying bare arch and also an nvidia card. i’d recommend Pop!OS as i hear it’s the best out of the box experience for nvidia owners, and if you want to stay arch based i’d try EndeavourOS as it’s arguably the most mature and stable arch based distro today, it’s what i use but i also have amd not nvidia so i can’t speak for the nvidia experience for endeavour. maybe you want to wait a while before you try again just so you’re not burning out on the frustration, too. good luck!
yeah sure. there’s the connection level of each knot itself, with higher levels giving you more chiral bandwidth and i’m pretty sure gives you higher numbers of online structures in that area too, but i’m not certain about that.
other than that tho there’s bridge contracts which state they give you a stronger connection to that player so you both share more of your structures with each other. i actually forgot about that until the last few days and after adding the max 30 contracts i def have more structures.
i also suspect that if you like online structures actively rather than just letting it get a like when you use it the game gives you more other players and structures as well, but i’m not certain on that one either. it makes sense to me what with the ‘likers get liked’ sign mechanic and how the amount of likes you can get overall is a skill to improve as well as your time to give likes increasing with skill as well.
online stuff smattered everywhere. plenty of people still playing and i imagine a good handful also snagged it like i did when epic gave it away for a day. there’s also older stuff like well placed safe houses and joke bridges on flat land or mountain peaks that have an insane number of likes so they must’ve been there for years.
also there’s a page where you can see the players you’ve interacted with, your likes for them and their likes for you and it also shows last login date, and most of mine are online recently like me with some maybe last logged in in january, or late last year. i did see one who hasn’t played since '22 but they’ve still got stuff in my world, too, so i think there’s some playtime syncing where a bridge or whatever might actually be destroyed in their game if they logged in today but since it was there from hour 5 to 25 of their playthrough you’ll get it at hour 5 and will stay if you repair it unlike they did. but that’s a guess.
edit: for quick reference when you log in you get a summary of people liking your stuff and yesterday i saw “75 players are pleased with you, 7328 likes”. so definitely still active. also no spoilers but there are a game mechanic or two that affects how many other players you are connected to, so your actions in game can determine how many people’s stuff shows up, as well.
seems similar to the set up for systemd snippets, where you can avoid changing default config files for systemd units and instead use a drop in file in that created .d dir to load and overwrite the defaults on boot for whatever specific thing. don’t know anything that uses this for bashrc, tho. most likely harmless, especially if there’s no created bashrc.d yet.
