  • I got perma’d a month ago for posting links to .edu domains showing proof that UV light damages your eyes.

Some guy was claiming “the CDC/FDA doesn’t know shit because I used to start into the sun to spite the people who told me not to.”

I got a redditcares and then a site wide shadowban.

    No action on the appeal.

I decided not to make another account and to try quitting the internet, when that failed I decided to go to Lemmy instead of reddit again.

When Lemmy gets shitty like that hopeful I’ll be ready to disconnect for good.

  • Yeah it really sucks because they used to have people putting together the playlists and then I could just go into the playlist of songs I like and find other songs that are similar but different. There was enough drift on it but I could find new music easily.

Now the algorithm just keeps trying to redirect me the songs I already like/know. It’s a much tighter bubble than just sticking with a genre or even sub genre.

  • I like kids but I do not want my own.

I think people should be OK with other people making their own choices.

Telling someone to “grow up and have kids” like in the comic is really shitty just like how telling someone they made a mistake by having kids would be.

Idk why the argument is "everyone should have kids or nobody should have kids. "

I feel like the internet has ruined many people’s tolerance for ambiguity or difference.

  • I refuse to consider anything AI generated to be legitimate art.

There’s nothing intentional about it, you simply give a prompt to a machine and it matches the pattern. That isn’t art just like how doing madlibs isn’t the same as writing literature.

A person using AI tools can be ok as long as it’s a human doing the overall composition.

Like using AI to make samples to use in a song is fine, using AI to generate the entire song isn’t.
