deepl isn’t free thou, to some extent …
it is lifted from reddit, and i am not trying to hide anything. Feel free to mute my posts.
yea configured, not hardcoded, because its a badly sought feature for me lol
yea man i feel u. i do take offenses too but idc much. whats annoying its that it gets distracting and sometimes the reply isn’t worth an answer and i just like to move on
The only really sustainable aquaculture products are bivalves and seaweed: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-021-03889-2
interesting: yea better cut out the middlemen and go straight for the nutrient sources. I am not really informed about the subject but farming fish still seem way less harmful than farming methane emitting cows and mrsa ridden poultry. so bivalves and seaweed it is !
how about (ol’reliable.jpeg) megapacks? with enough storage and solar capacity to cover surge consumption ?
personally i think fish farming is cost effective, from a protein mass/farming cost ratio standpoint. If big fish benefits the same subsidies as big red meat does, fish farming would be more sustainable and a farmer could use a less denser farm to minimize disease risk, also it would enable him to buy more medicine to fight parasites while maintaining a healthy margin
sure, each got their preferences
i think sync as a reddit client used to have more features than it is now but i am still not sure, at least the reddit official app has an extra feature like the mute comment notification feature, etc… also i dont think people are getting their money worth off the app (and the app pricing isn’t supposed to reflect its worth either) : dev living in america where high rent and taxes are rampant: why should that trickle to me as a user, especially when i am not earning an american wage…if 1000 ad views pay for 1$, then paying 10$ as a yearly fee is more of a reasonable way to monetize ur app while sparing ur user the ad abuse. European devs could provide more affordable apps for Lemmy, like the case of Boost. Also i am not aginst proprietary apps at all. In fact, proprietary apps are way better than Lemmy foss apps
its a whole cult out there, the sync community. Also sync was released almost 2 months ago charging 2$ per month or 20$ per year with no major feature upgrades in sight. In the third party app realm, the more ,the merrier: I dont find sync intuitive, and Connect dev is on vacay, plus Boost loads way more feed than the latter. The rest of apps aren’t much pleasing for me, and ios apps are just lemmy apps for vegans or something…I dont know if any others 3p devs would join like Bacon reader or relay
If the “chopstick” landing doesn’t work out, the design could fall back to landing legs
does that imply that the latter method costs more fuel ? if by chopstick u mean the way Starship lands in the animation video, grabbed by the crane, to be mated with the already fueled first stage ? cause that looks like straight sci-fi :D man landing legs are already awesome
Once Starship’s up and running basically everything flying today will be hopelessly obsolete
exactly, no more price gauging,penny-pinching (like Ryannair that uses reverse thrusters at landing to save brakepads lol), weight limiting (airlines would board an obese person while prohibiting another from boarding with weight limit exceeding bagage) and maltreatring airlines like Delta. Tbh Elon needs to have a dedicated airline service, powered by Starlink wifi, at least he’s worthy of gov subsidies and he’s among the few who in fact did save the taxpayer a lot of money
this thread got too specific, haha! it reminisces me of the days when i used to read spacenews.com all the time, but i had to limit my internet’s usage and cut on SLS delay news. If the launch cost gets low enough spaceX could spin a telescope manufacturing subsidiary and launch telescopes beyond earth atmosphere and charge per hour subscriptions where u could point out the telescope where u want, that way it could finally silence the telescope amateur community that keeps complaining about how bad Starlink is at ruining their space observation, but again, just daydreaming.
interesting! so 150/22=6.8 ; 67/1=67 ; 67*6.8=455.6 . i know this is stupid math but Starship is apparently expected to reduce the cost of launch to LEO by a factor of 455! thats really high for expectations to be set. Yea, heavier Starlinks would reduce this factor maybe to 400 or something, but nonetheless, the weight changes shouldn’t affect the launch costs much at this point
Yea, Starliner is miserable. Also Northrop Gruman which is a taxpayer-money sinkhole. Meanwhile their argument would be: hurr durr we are creating jubs! 1000 jobs costing the rest of 300 million people a fortune
Libretube seem to offer multiple instances ?
Kavin.rocks seems stable, so far.
the problem seem to be about finding reliable instances, so u could self host if u have run out of options
that way a feature phone is needed. amoled isn’t for under sunlight brightness. tft panels are stupidly bright and consume nothing in terms of energy.
