A conservative group that claimed to uncover a ballot stuffing scheme in Georgia has told a judge it has no evidence to back up its allegations.
file court case
provide no evidence
what the fuck did they think they were gonna accomplish
Confusion while Trump steals the election. Make a movie based on lies that’ll convince idiots that their version of reality is true.
US democracy is on thin ice. Enough people are willing to overlook any of the stuff mentioned in this discussion and vote for Trump to flip the elections if Biden fucks up anything. Literally anything, like stumbling over a fold in a rug or forgetting a name.
Now watch as they run to OAN or Breitbart or something and scream “PerseCuTiOn!”
Headlines
There were a ridiculous number of court cases in 2020 brought by Trump fans about faking the election.
Not a single one won in court.
These people are fucking idiots.
Simple, it’s about the money “WERE FIGHTING FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY, DONATE TO STOP THE DEMON-CRAT STEAL”
They might hope to win the case (making chud lawyers rich), but losing has its own appeal. The SovCit or conspiracy angle that ‘the swamp’ is covering for Biden, perpetuating their victimhood until the next election.m, is like moths to a flame
Right wing news will run endless stories over the first part and totally bury the second part.
You’re right. Sadly we live in a country where you can sue anyone for anything. Most people don’t know how the legal system works. These networks make a living exploiting that.
Guys, I’m starting to think these conservative types may be a little dishonest.
What I love, though, is that they think they can waltz into a courtroom and say, “judge, we don’t have evidence to back this up…” and get away with it.
It’s because they know that whatever punishment the Court hands down, they can just go to the media and lie about being unjustly targeted because of their Conservative views, and fundraise off of it.
Any punishment that the Court hands down is not punitive if there’s a ROI.
If they don’t get their person in office, it’s not that big a return, is it?
Until they use it as ‘evidence’ of being persecuted for their values, getting exposure in the right wing media circus along with the sweet pile of fundraising loot.
Both of which fund the next lunatic MAGA candidate or group.
For the people that dude is talking about that’d be a big issue. They don’t want to win, winning means they lose a part of the grift and have to contend with new responsibilities.
Texas-based True the Vote filed complaints […] including one in which it said it had obtained “a detailed account of coordinated efforts to collect and deposit ballots in drop boxes across metro Atlanta” […] When pressed to provide names of sources and other documentation, the group last year tried to withdraw its complaint. [When that was denied] attorneys for True the Vote said the group had no names or other documentary evidence to share.
So they fucking lied, tried to wriggle out of it when they were called out, and now they’ve admitted they have nothing? Fuckers need to be in prison, be permanently banned from anything to do with elections and politics, and have their own right to vote revoked.
Isn’t there a term for what they’re doing, wasting the court’s time? And a penalty for it? I think it’s called ‘Barratry’.
No one ever leaves the right wing because that would mean coming to terms with having been an absolute piece of shit but new idiots join every day thanks to bullshit accusations like this one.
The propaganda did its job now onto the next completely unfounded zero-risk accusation.
Bannon and Stone were on their way to prison. Guess who pardoned them?
Are they still lying?
"One of its attorneys wrote that a complete response would require True the Vote to identify people to whom it had promised confidentiality"
Yeah.
In addition to names, the judge ordered True the Vote to provide copies of any confidentiality agreements it had with sources.
The group’s attorneys replied: “TTV has no such documents in its possession, custody, or control.”
If we lived in a sane country, 40% of republicunt politicians would be in prison right now.
I do not think they technically lied. People who believe into conspiracy theories usually require negative amount of evidence (I.e., they believe it despite of the evidence to the contrary). But this amount of evidence does not work for the courts. They are just nuts (yes, that’s a technical term).
They claimed they had evidence. Even if it was bad ‘evidence’, they should have been able to produce it. I mean, you talk with a flat earther or a faked moon landing person or a vaccine is gonna kill you person, they’re gonna have all kinds of bullshit evidence to try to convince you. These guys couldn’t even come up with that.
Lawyers can’t knowingly present lies or falsehoods in court. Due to that single constraint, these idiots can’t present anything because all they have are falsehoods and they know it.
What kind of evidence flat rather or vaccine denier would have other than “I heard that”? That would not be considered as evidence by any lawyer representing them.
So people who lie a lot make up idiotic justifications to believe their own lies. That doesn’t make them not-lies.
so what’s going to be their punishment? this is the only question that matters. because if the sanction isn’t significant, there’s nothing stopping this group or similar groups from doing the same thing.
If I pulled something like this in my profession I’d be fined and permanently lose my license to practice. And losing my license in one state would likely trigger the automatic revocation in the other states I’m licensed (maybe not WV, they don’t seem to give a shit). That seems appropriate.
Then they should be fined for wasting the courts time, and spreading misinformation.
Yeah but they’re conservatives.
Conservatives are allowed to undermine the government. That’s how it works in the US.
The logic of these people is flawless, I don’t understand why the judge can’t see that and needs evidence. /s
They:
- we would and some even have done shady stuff at the election
- this means the other side has done it obviously too
- someone has told someone else they are absolutely sure ballot stuffing happened, but we can’t remember who said it and who it was can’t remember they said it, but it definitely without a doubt was said and since we know we would have done it they have done it
- don’t you see how it creates a perfect circle(jerk) - case closed
Oh a conservative telling lies? Who would have th? /s
To be fair (and I’m being generous cause fuck these people), they might have believed lies from others who they thought they’d call as witnesses. A lot of people believed Trump’s lies. I could see people who wanted to believe putting themselves on the line in ways that were risky because they were so certain.
But liars are pretty typical with maga fucks, so that’s also a fair assumption.
You’re not wrong but it doesn’t change the overall situation. This in particular is the crux of the issue for me:
A lot of people believed Trump’s lies.
If you believed that Trump was a trustworthy individual by the time the 2020 election rolled around then you were, at best, stupid. To be clear, I don’t mean that as a juvenile insult or a way to dehumanize people I disagree with. What I mean is that, in the most generous interpretation of the situation, you were unaware of how often and about what subjects Trump refused to be truthful both before and during his presidency. In addition to this ignorance, you also held very strong opinions about subjects you clearly had no interest in educating yourself on, namely the fact that he’s so obviously full of shit. These opinions were strong enough that you were willing to overlook the historical anamoly of being impeached two separate times in order to vote for this man. Now, perhaps it is a bit incendiary to state it so bluntly, but I don’t know what else to call a categorical refusal to engage the rational part of your brain other than stupidity.
Clearly there are Trump supporters who are stupid for reasons other than I’ve outlined here. My point is simply that the above scenario is about as open minded as you could reasonably be when evaluating the motivations of a Trump supporter and my conclusion is still that they are idiots. I think we’re well past the point where it’s necessary to make excuses for them.
Wouldn’t the first step be to verify BEFORE filling with the courts?
The groups might be complete morons but their lawyers should have at least verified the sources before taking it on
Wouldn’t the first step be to verify BEFORE filling with the courts?
Yes… if you’re not a Trump voter who believed his election lie and are therefore not very smart.
