And I think this is the crux of the problem and where most of the hate comes from. You can have a good kaiju movie without Godzilla, but can you have a good Godzilla movie without Godzilla? I will always believe that it started life as a remake of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. It’s almost the same film except for the Velociraptor rip off section.
