Ontario's premier called for pro-Palestinian protest encampments to move off university campuses Monday even as one Toronto university suggested it was making progress in its talks with demonstrators.
You can tell that the rich and powerful are really afraid of these protests spilling over into a general dissatisfaction with the status quo.
They were, mostly, fine with the Convoy because that was a revolt of the privileged against restrictions, but this, this is more like OWS or the G20, a threat to those in charge. They know they’ve pushed things pretty far, disenfranchising people and squeezing them for everything their worth. They’re hoping they can keep us at each others’ throats and maybe benefit from a little protofascist dog-whistling, and they’re really concerned that they might lose control.
