Closest thing I’ve seen to a jetpack so far (not quite relaxing floating though).
Tom scott video on same JetSuit (spoiler alert its tricky to fly):
Things that require a motor to stay up in the air are usually disqualified, but this is too cool. I like it. This is the plausible version of Strike Witches.
Kinda weird side question how would you classify para gliders? Few scenarios:
- Para glider is towed up to a high altitude either by another plane/or its own internal motor but then glides down without any engine/tow assistance.
- Para glider (wingsuite) starts from a high service (say a cliff) then glides down with no engine assistance
Paragliders qualify under wind power, like kites. The big ones can fly slow and enjoy their surroundings. @aeharding could probably soar to a good altitude and work on Voyager a little bit from up there. Paramotors don’t qualify as floating during takeoff, but they do qualify when they cut the engine and glide.
Wingsuits probably wouldn’t count. They slow your descent a little but not enough that you could land safely without a parachute.
Gotcha thanks for the clarification 🎈
PS: love Voyager 🚀
