GOP sees soldiers as dollar store screwdrivers: use it until it breaks, then buy another one. the instant a soldier becomes more of a liability (aka veterans, wounded) than an asset, then GOP couldn’t give less of a flying fuck about them

Don’t they predominantly vote for the GOP though? You’d think they’d want to keep them at least somewhat happy, as if you push them too far that might change?

I think veterans should use their training to remind the government of their loyalty to the country and not an orange ass hat and their sycophants.

I love how this just implies that the resistance has gained another 80 000 soldiers.

I thought we were supposed to be giving people jobs, not taking them away.

How did republicans dupe their base into supporting this?

This was the plan from the moment the new sec of the VA wqs appointed.

He then was able to fire like 5k probationary employees because the rest had union protections, and then a judge made them hire back the probationary employees that wanted to come back.

So the plan from the start has been cutting 80k employees, but they have only cut like 2k maybe through the fork in the road offer.

I don’t see how they can manage to fire any more.
