The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects Volume 1
Chill Slice-of-life about a former (Hero) Soldier retiring from a long war. The MC isn’t the brightest bulb in the shed but it’s played OK imo. So far he doesn’t seem too dense although it’s a bit early to judge that after a single volume. Plenty of side characters so far with little work done with them, hopefully the 2nd Volume does more with them. Some semblance of foreshadowing here and there but nothing too obvious or concrete imo which is perfect, it would be boring if I could plot out the entire story from Volume 1.
The magic system introduced is very limited but well thought out, effects so far aren’t bent to produce desired results plus they fit well into the origin of the magic with some weaknesses already shown.
