Heyyy I think you might be the first honest to goodness troll I’ve seen on lemmy.

I’ve actually seen that a few times here on lemmy. Plus I saw someone discuss some of their more conservative opinions on a respectful way and they weren’t downvoted or attacked. I mostly disagreed with what they said but it was nice to see actual discourse.

I think this comment really understates just how effective Hitler was as a politician and a leader. He tried to forcibly take over the government and it failed. That part any “little Hitler” could do and also likely fail. What set him apart was his charisma and appeal to the downtrodden, not unlike a certain US politician. He was so well loved and respected that he was able to do heinous acts with near universal support. I don’t think there are many people in history that can do that sort of thing as effectively as he did

I think you make a good point that over reacting to perceived offenses can make the “victims” look bad, but the idea that only those who identify as the victim have any right to speak on it is nonsense. I’m a white person but I’m going to call out racism when I see it because to my view of a just society, that racism cannot be allowed. I have nobody in my life that is trans and the current right wing war against trans people doesn’t affect me at all, but I’m still going to be an ally and stand against it.

And honestly anyone who blamed trans people for the harry potter game backlash likely wasn’t a fan of trans people to begin with. I wouldn’t worry so much about their opinion.
