Nice thoughtful video on the relative effectiveness of flames vs bugs in the new patch.

Interesting video and worth watching. The TLDR is that there are now more small bugs and less Bile Titans spawning since the latest patch. This makes the flame thrower and Breaker Incendiary much more relevant alone. However, at higher difficulties they also now spawn Charger Behemoths, which have more health and head armor than standard Chargers. These require 2 headshots from a Quasar or EAT, making those weapons less relevant. However, their legs still take the same amount of damage from a flamethrower as a regular Charger, so they can be burned to death in like 3 seconds.

Exactly! I hadn’t realized how strong the behemoth was. I did like the detail about moving toward the leg while trying to pop off it’s armor.

I saw another video that explained this was due to how distance damage drop off works. Apparently anti tank weapons get a damage drop of 1 unless you’re moving forward, which is just barely enough to prevent it from breaking the leg armor. Hopefully they fix that!

Funny, fire was always my loadout against bugs ever since the DOT patch. 500k or EATs for bile titans - since the EATs are disposable it’s just a temporary swap
