The shooter picked him specifically because of a video of Abe speaking in one of their churches. Abe’s family in particular has connections to the cult since the very foundation, and their ties to the LDP are something out of a “Like A Dragon”/“Yakuza” plot.

But it doesn’t say Abe’s name, so it’s very likely there’s some folks who don’t realize that this photo is rather old. It would be easy to read it and think this just happened in the last few days.
