Last week began with a chapter from Lieseleta’s point of view. We learn how Lord Thorston is attempting to exploit Lieseleta using their engagement and his higher status to obtain leniency for his captured family. Lieseleta and Elvira discuss a way for Lieseleta to join Rozemyne in the Sovereignty while canceling her undesired engagement to Lord Thorston and making sure her house has a successor to replace her. Lieseleta accepts Rozemyne’s request and will become her head attendant.
The book concludes with a chapter from Sylvester’s point of view after the Ahrensbach funeral. We learn that the Sovereign knights subdued during the funeral were all originally from Ehrenfest and sent to the Sovereignty before Sylvester’s time as Aub. The knights were executed by Detlinde’s request before they could be interrogated. Sylvester suspects Georgine’s involvement and postulates her desire to keep Sylvester from meeting the knights during winter socializing and that a confrontation between he and Georgine is inevitably fast approaching.
Once again, Ewigliebe the God of Life has hidden away Geduldh the Goddess of Earth. And we know what that means: Baptism and debut of new nobles, the gifting ceremony, winter socializing, winter playroom, and the Royal Academy.
As Rozemyne soon enters her 4th year at the Royal Academy what predictions do you have for this year? Will Rozemyne’s impending royal adoption be kept secret? What legends will born? What rampages will be had? What dangers await?
(As of this writing P5V7 is not on the j-novel club calendar. Hopefully we are still getting part 1 this week)
Might not be a leak, but I’m certainly anticipating that there are rumors about Rozemyne moving to the sovereignty that spread around the academy - for better and worse. Returning (or at least seeing students from elsewhere) probably won’t be in this first set of chapters, but at some point.
We had Detlinde in the epilogue of last volume and got a new side story dealing with Sigiswald dealing with Ahrensbach, so maybe we don’t need a royal perspective to prologue this volume. That had been what I was originally expecting - something to detail their preparations and give us some clues as to what environment Rozemyne is getting herself into.
I’ll make some predictions this time.
Now that Rozemyne is aware of her move to the Sovereignty I foresee her attitude changing more from an Ehrenfest centric view to a Yurgenschmidt centric view. I see her using the Ehrenfest dormitory to become an example for struggling duchies and to help aid their growth.
I think Rozemyne will remain a target of other duchies until knowledge of her adoption into the royal family becomes public knowledge. I expect interference from the Sovereign Temple, and probably some greater duchies. I’m pretty sure Fraularm was notified of Lady Dahldolf’s assassination plot against Rozemyne evidenced by the question of her health and her interruption after Rozemyne opened the bible during the Starbind ceremony at the Archduke conference. I predict Fraularm may attempt to pickup where Dahldolf left off after failing revenge so many times against Rozemyne and Ehrenfest.
While Rozemyne has in the past mentioned that Ehrenfest is her Geduldh I think she will change that response to Ferdinand. Since most of the people she cares about will be spread across several duchies I think she’ll reply that Yurgenschmidt is her Geduldh.
I predict that printing will be a major topic of import this year at the Royal Academy. There are many more printed goods to expand to which may come up such as fliers, newspapers, or yearbooks. Since magic tools were covered a lot last year in the Royal Academy maybe we’ll see more on magic circles this year.
I hope that the prologue will open with a story from Melchior’s POV, showing him actively participating in the harvest festival and conducting religious ceremonies for the first time, but I’m not too hopeful about it.
What I’m a bit more sure about it is, that we’ll very likely see the noble baptism of Dirk and Bertram. After that it’s most likely straight off to the Royal Academy.
Hmm… I wonder if Hildebrand will be the overseeing Royal again, or if his father decided to make Anastasius do that again, as a result of the incident at the bride stealing ditter, or just because of how often Hildebrand had to fall back on Anastasius anyway, the previous year, so might as well put him there in the first place.
… or would it be possible to give Eglantine the double role of both Professor and overseeing Royal? She’s a princess both by birth and marriage, so she should be qualified, but can a single person do both? With the current issues between Adolphine and Sigiswald and her just coming into the royal family, I doubt she’s taking the position this year, if ever.
