Considering how Rozemyne’s schtappe “evolved” from absorbing the feystone tablets of the shrines, which made the troubles she had since obtaining her divine protections go away, I think there’s still hope for Hildebrand’s schtappe, if he holds off visiting any of the shrines until after he gained his own divine protections. He’ll probably suffer some ill effects in the meantime, but long-term it seems the best solution. I certainly hope he’s not damaged for life.

Wow… to think Alstede actually believed that Detlinde was doing anything at all for non-selfish reasons and was a good person at heart is immensely delusional, nearly on Veronica’s level… Georgine really messed her daughters up big time.

I wonder why nobody raised the point of allying with Gervasio. Sure he might not know much about Yurgenschmidt culture, but he already has experience governing a kingdom. If they assassinated Trauerqual and replaced him with a foreigner, there would surely be civil war… but Trauerqual is only too willing to throw the crown on anyone with a Grutrissheit. If Gervasio walked up to him and summoned his bible, Trauerqual would probably vacate the thrown and give Gervasio his blessing before the entire country, which should prevent any rebellion from sprining up, or at least reduce them to a level that can be handled localy. And if Gervasio took Trauerqual on as an advisor, that should counteract his own lack of knowledge about Yurgenschmidt culture and politics. Gervasio did spare Solange, even when her survival and being found by the wrong people, might endanger his plans, so maybe he is merciful and all the bad stuff stems from Raublut.

It might not be ideal, but the previous situation of the kingdom is so catastrophic, merely “not ideal” would be a big step up.

Wait a moment… Erwärmen couldn’t tell Rozemyne’s and Ferdinand’s mana apart, but Schwartz and Weiss didn’t call Ferdinand milady, when he went to the library. How come they are more sophisticated in sensing mana than a literal (former) god?

I wonder why they are sealing away all the Lanzenave equipment. I mean sure, the poison and unknown devices make sense, but why not use the silver equipment for their own benefit? Their effects are well known and straightforward enough to safely use them. With how the Lanzenavians with Gervasio also using feystone armour, and that they might face actual sovereign knights, those silver weapons would be very useful.

Shwartz and Weiss are Library magic tools. And in libraries they have books. To read books they need eyes. So it is safe to assume they have eyes unlike some uncultured Gramps.

They said that they have a classic problem of FRIEND OR FOE with black capes fighting eachother. If they would come with silver equipement they would immediately be marked as enemies.

Sure, when they can see them, but they already say that milady has come, the moment she enters, even when they can’t see her yet. Then again, I don’t remember Ferdinand entering the library without Rozemyne being with him, once she is the master, so that might account for that.

As for the friend or foe thing, I understood it as that only counting for the Sovereign Knights, because both the loyal and rebel knights (plus the disguised Lanzenavians) all wear the same capes. Dunkelfelger, Ahrensbach and Ehrenfest knights would have different capes and that is even pointed out about the Dunkelfelgerians… Then again, the royal family and loyal sovereign knights don’t know about Ahrensbach and Ehrenfest yet, so you have a point in that regard. If the loyalists see them carrying silver weapons, they might attack right away, without trying to determin whether they are on their side.

Or even if they know that they are enemies of Lanzenave, they might think Rozemyne decided to take the throne with her Grutrissheit. Who knows what kind of lies Raublut spread among the ranks, just in case.

Edit: I completely forgot something important. While the book only mentions scholars, Alstede, Blasius and Detlinde would also have attendants and more importantly, guard knights with them, who are also wearing Ahrensbach caves. So the friend foe confusion is in place for Ahrensbach capes too and only the Dunkelfelger and Ehrenfest capes can truly show that they are on the side of the loyalists, by colour alone.
