I really love these past few parts. Not that the fighting wasn’t interesting but I think the story shines best with the intellectual battles (featuring Myne completely goofing up all the time)

I am looking forward to how the transference ceremony will go because ‘as planned’ is unlikely to happen

I hope Adolphine gets a future that works for her. Rozemyne didn’t seem to be able to figure out how much Adolphine dislikes Sigiswald and she’s clearly not on anyone’s mind. Glad she was finally able to speak up, and I hope she gets the divorce she wants and a better situation.

Considering she’s the daughter of an Aub, and how her brother doesn’t want to become the next Aub, I think it’s quite likely she’ll become the successor, unless she’s beaten by one of the adopted children of course. If that were to happen, she’s near enough guaranteed to become the first wife of some other duchy’s future or current Aub. With her being from a greater and top ranking duchy, the chances of anything less are minimal.

I don’t get why Eglantine needs feystones. Just offering mana in an earnest prayer should be enough for the magic circle to activate. The feystones are just a workaround for those who lack the knowledge, mana capacity or faith to do so, and I don’t think that any of those three aplies to Eglantine. She does after all have the divine protection of all seven primary gods, plus whatever subordinate gods she got from re-doing the ritual.

Speaking of mana… how did Schwartz and Weiss notice Rozemyne’s presence, if she was so completely covered in silver cloth from head to toe, not even leaving a gap for her to see through? Shouldn’t that block her mana completely and thus leave the magic tools blind to her?

She needs feystone boots to act as a conductor for mana to fill the circle.

But you don’t need a conductor for mana to go into a magic circle you’re standing on. In the spring prayer ritual in Haldenzell, they had their regular shoes on, and the mana still went into the stage without any problem, with such efficiency that it made the laynobles pass out. I can’t imagine that the very circle meant to test Zent candidates would be inferior in design to one used for prayers in a duchy. Furthermore when Rozemyne watched her first graduation whirl from the stands, she and Ferdinand saw the magic circle activate too (albeit it wasn’t visible to non-Zent candidates), even though none of the dancers was wearing feystone shoes or offering mana in their prayer song.

The feystones are not a necesity, but a crutch, to make things easier for those who don’t want to or can’t offer mana in an earnest prayer, while whirling. Rozemyne even deliberately avoided praying, during whirling lessons, so she wouldn’t accidentally activate the circle.

Well… Hildebrand can’t become Zent, but with Sigiswald getting his own duchy and Anastasius being the Zent’s first husband, Hildebrand is very likely to become the next Aub of the duchy given to Trauerqual. With him starting mana compression early, he should have an edge over any other potential archduke candidate taken in by his father. And if the small shrines are accessible to him, and have effects similar to what the large shrines did for Rozemyne’s schtappe, he might even get his schtappe upgraded to some degree, even if the large shirnes are barred to him. He also has a better grasp of the ancient language than most Yurgenschmidt nobles, which means that he’ll be able to read the stuff in the underground archive, which might contain lots of useful information of all kinds.

Alternatively, as an archduke candidate, he could pursuit to become one of Aub Rozemyne’s husbands. As a female Aub, she’s expected to have three husbands, so even if Ferdinand & Co can force their marriage through, there’d still be two spots open. Though that would mean that Trauerqual would have to find someone outside his family to adopt and make his successor.

Personally I think it would have been better to have Trauerqual become Eglantine’s head scholar, or something along those lines, so he can become her advisor. True Zent or not, he managed to hold the country together for more than a decade, so his political experience is surely useful, and it would also make for a good symbol of Eglantine’s authority, to have the previous Zent as a retainer.

Regarding Hildabread arr they planing to remove is shtappe sealing cuffs?

Memory is a bit foggy not sure initially if he had to permanently wear them or was that never the case (foggy memory on my part) or they are removing them as part of the plan to partially sweep the royal families errors under the rug.

The plan from part 2 is to replace it with a schtappe sealing ring until he comes of age to get his officially. Then, it will be removed when he officially gets his schtappe.
