I’d be embarrassed if my country and its terrible leaders hadn’t already killed that part of me over the past decade.

Uh, there “Trump 2028” caps at the top left of the photo.

He’s casually showing world leaders his shitty hats and that he plans to run for a third term despite it being entirely unconstitutional.

I can’t tell if it’s complete bravado or sheer incompetence.

“He’s proven again and again that joking is his way of introducing particularly harmful ideas into public discourse, and they have a way to sort of become normalized because we might dismiss them as jokes,” Marx said. “So even if it’s framed as kind of a glib or ironic, we have to still take those things seriously and call them out for what they are.”

“it’s just a joke” has been the biggest lie of everyone that had ever said it

Humor has a purpose, it introduces ideas, it hits at an undercurrent of communication. It’s never “just a joke”

What if they push to overturn the amendment that prevents a 3rd term only for Obama to run for 2028 as well?

They want to arrest Obama and try him for treason. There’d be some bullshit reason he wouldn’t be allowed, probably wouldn’t be on the ballot at all in red states.

I’d love to see the look Macron and Zelensky gave each other at some point during or after this scene. The things you do for peace…

Also Trump 2028? That’s unconstitutional right? And he’s showing this to other world leaders?! That should be some kind of lawsuit in and of itself.

Uh, well now, let’s see here… You might be inclined to think that a plain reading of the simple meaning of the language of the constitution would be enough to say “no, a president is not allowed a 3rd full term because of that pesky umpteenth amedment,” but actually. who’s fucking stopping them? It’s doesn’t seem to be you. It sure as shit isn’t me sitting around scratching my ass and bitching about it. So if it’s not you, and it’s not me, and it’s not the president, and it’s not the supreme court, and it’s not congress, and it’s not the states individually or in groups, and it’s not the military, and it’s not the international community… who is gonna stop these people from chucking an entire-ass nazism?
