As a mostly straight dude who does not score high on conventional physical attractiveness I encourage absolutely everyone independent of their gender to hit on me. Being told/signaled that I am attractive is always welcome.

Just don’t blatantly ignore boundaries like physical touch without explicit consent. That too applies completely independent of gender.

Man if I ever get comments on my appearance it goes to my head and I cant think straight for days.

Thankfully that’s only happened like twice.

I’m sure you’re aware but I think it needs to be said more; but I think that most women would love to pay men compliments on their appearance, but unfortunately, it sometimes leads to weird, obsessive, totally inappropriate behaviour from said men and so that scares a lot of women off.

We, as a society, should try to discourage men from reading too much into a purely platonic compliment so that women feel more free to give men compliments without fear of super awkward and/or scary situations.

When you say “hi” and the guy is like “I’m not into you”

Not into you either bro. Just acknowledging you’re there and I’m here so you don’t fall off a cliff in surprise just cuz I’m walking this trail behind you. Safety measures and all that.

I used to provide security for a club that held a lot of queer dance parties. It’s pretty flattering to be hit on by gay guys. They’ll give you honest compliments that most women won’t.

I’m a cishet man. Only one gay man has ever hit on me and it disappoints me. Like what’s wrong with me, guys? Don’t you want this body?

I’ve only been hit on once by gay men and it was a case of mistaken identity. It was at a halloween party in 2004 and I was dressed as an Abu Ghraib detainee from Iraq, mostly naked wearing just a black hood, a dog collar and leash around my neck, and skin colored underwear with a stuffed dog attached as if it was biting my crotch. Nobody really got the costume - they just assumed it was some sort of fetish thing.

I was literally in a gay bar the only time I was hit on. My friend was the bartender and I’d hang out there with him sometimes. So for all I know, the guy hitting on me was just very desperate.

I sure wasn’t hit on any of the other times I was in there.

        🙁

I went to a gay bar with my gay friends from work last week. I had 5 compliments on my beard. It felt so good.

Had one recent tenant straight up tell me within the first few days of renting, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, “I hate faggots”.

I just stared at him and replied, “You’re just mad because they don’t hit on you”

He was also recently removed from the property.

He was barely 19, and just started university.

    Good luck in life, bro.

Should I give that show another try?

I remember really enjoying it when it was first airing, but I fell off cuz my living situation got all messed up and I think it’s one of those where I’d have to start over from S1E1.

I think it’s Legion; a series based on an X-Men character named Legion, who is Charles Xavier’s neglected schizophrenic son, but because of licensing issues they couldn’t include most X-Men characters and as a result they created a story that doesn’t really feel like any other superhero thing and is instead very weird and very trippy.

I haven’t watched it since it’s original run and don’t remember much more than that, but I remember liking it quite a bit. I might rewatch it soon.

I’d recommend it, can’t say why I’d recommend it, I just remember really enjoying Legion.

From what little I do remember, I think starting over would be a good idea.

There’s a bit where some time travel shit starts happening and these really freaky time demons show up and they will sit in your nightmares for a while.

Other than that it’s pretty cool

The struggle of being straight women…

The odds are good but the goods are odd.
